Maggie Gitu, to whom this song is dedicated, is a semi-professional Kenyan mezzo soprano whose rich voice has a phenomenal vocal range. Moreover, on stage she is a gifted comedienne. Her services as a singing teacher are much valued in a land where the love of classical music is growing and there is a steadily increasing need for music teachers.
